Why I can't live without Cricket

I woke up on the morning of the days after watching the first innings of the two matches ,standing on the road ,standing in a barber shop for three hours(DD and SET MAX are not available in our college!!!),only to hear that India lost those matches .I was unable to beleive that the rest of the worls cup did not feature our beloved players.

I would never say ,Watching Cricket 9is about patriotism ,passion for sports etc.It is a part of my life ,my day to day activities ,just like brushing ,bathing etc.I could remember every part of my life right from my childhooddays to the tense moments of our board exams with reference to the corresponding cricket matches. The games are one of those things that moulded me into myself.

It is just amazing to think of certain things in life that happens without our knowledge and knowing those things after their happenings.Harsha Bhogle and Ravi Shastri taught me how to talk on stage,Steve Waugh emphasised perseverence in life,Sachin showed how aggression is an integral part of life,Dravid instilled patience in me ,Imran Khan showed how to show empathy over others.

The two knocks of Sachin in Sharjah told me how one man with his will can conquer the world. The Natwest final in Lords authoured by Yuvraj and Kaif showed the powewr of youth.Naseer Hussain and Steve Waugh showed how to be a fighter at tough situations.

Whatever may be the causes of failure of Indian cricketers, it is the failure of the entire cricketing system, the enter nation ,the entire fraternity of fans .The players are the best 11 of one billion people. The best can't deliver when it matters. This is a humiliation ,embarrassment and disgrace to our system and our deficiencies are brought into the spotlight.

After all......
Cricket is not my passion,
It is embedded in my life and nothibg can take it away even by India's early exit from the quadrennial carnival and only these glorious uncertainities in sports keep its spirits alive...

The Eternal Mask...

Sometimes ,when You are alone ,when there is no other thing to disturb you ,your mind begins a search, the search for yourself. We are not ourselves ,almost all of the time.We do things ,because those things are essential or necessary for our success,or to please individuals .We all wear a mask .It is the undescribable ,the most sophisticated ,the eternal ,the most ugly piece of our soul .

We lose ourselves to the worldly happenings ,sometimes we hide love ,sometimes we dont help others though we want to help them .We dont control ourselves most of the time ,and allow the situations to decide to what has to be done.We are burying ourselves to the so called 'Society'.

In the process,we lose our selfhood.'Professionalism','Work Ethics ',whatever you may call it ,it swallows you into its awkward dimensions. The mask is so permanent, that sometimes it makes you believe yourself that you arent. The mask is undoubtedly the biggest curse to mankind.

The Outburst

I was in a Village near Coimbatore some days ago.I was nearly shocked and stunned by the plight of the poor children out there. There was no future for those small kids.It had a school ,just for the sake of having one.I was able to see hopelessness ,fear ,anger ,inability ,disappoinment in the eyes of those pitiable small kids.Is 'Being Child to a poor man 'is a very big crime.
We just boast ourselves to be among the devoloping countries and talk of GDPs and other stuffs. The poor and the villagers dont want these stuff .All they need is a life where there is hope, where there is security, where they can see their children grow with knowledge of the world.I cant see any of these things happening in the near future ,making their lives the biggest Question mark to be answered.

My Inagural Blog

I was just reading the blogs of Mr.Abraham George ,who is working on Poverty alleviation in India.Suddenly ,the thought of creating a blog myself ,where I could express my concern and profound anger over the social unevenness and injustices of the society, came to me.Here it is,the blog of 'The Common Man'......
